Intern in freshman year? I'm korean.

Hi, I'd like to get an internship in freshman year so I can experience the field and get used to dealing with people. I think internship is the best coice for me but I'm going to Wisconsin this JANUARY and I already feel it's kinda NOT EASY for me to get an internship as a freshman, korean. Internship in summer.
I need your advice. What is the first thing to do to get an internship? Intern

Cast a super wide net. Its best to get a finance internship (obviously) but you can spin almost anything from your freshmen year into a why IB story. Don't be afraid of unpaid internships either (if your parents can afford it). There is a very good cold emailing tutorial on WSO. I would think that you should be able to snag something if you start emailing people now. Also get an English name if you already haven't.

lastly, do not go back to Korea for an internship unless it is an extremely high profile name (GS/MBB Korean branch). Even if it is GS/MBB, people know that Asian kids get those internships through their parent's relationships so I would prefer a no name finance shop in the States. Shows that you can work with Americans.
