Internal mobility to GSAM from GS risk
Received a summer offer for GS Risk. I'm either going to get placed in the Credit Risk or Market Risk division this summer and neither are what I want to do full time. So, how difficult will it be to use that summer internship experience to move into full time AM, specifically GSAM because of the internal mobility factor? I'm graduating may 2023.Also, is it inappropriate to try to network with the GSAM division this summer while I'm in Risk? Wouldn't it give the impression that I don't care about Risk?
It's not impossible to move groups / divisions between SA and FT however also network outside of your firm because some firms / groups are more supportive about that kind of move and also not all groups have headcount for FT hires all the time
Would it not be in bad taste to network with other divisions within the firm while I’m still an intern?
