Internal Wholesaler job questions
Hey,
I am considering applying for a job as an internal wholesaler. However, I have a few questions regarding what they do. What is the basic salary and commission structure like? How much travel does an internal and an external do? How do they place you in territories? Does an internal spend the whole day on the phone or do they perform other activities?
Thanks!
Hi Barge736,
As an internal, you are basically on the phone nonstop prospecting and developing relationships with financial advisors in your designated region. salary and commission structure vary from firm to firm, but if you're good you can make 150k all in. As an external, you are on the road almost all the time meeting with advisors and pitching to some of their important individual clients as well. They pay scale is largely commission but even a very mediocre external will make somewhere around 400k all in. If you're great, you can rake in 7 figures. Regions are assigned based on openings and most of the time you go where you can as spots are limited. If you have any other questions, ask away.
