International WSO

WSO is doing very well and has grown to one of the best known sites in this industry. There is still a lot of potential left in the international sector.

Currently, WSO is really focussed on Wall Street. There are lots people from anywhere around the world looking for information about finance / job search / consultancy etc.
I think it might be a very good idea to make WSO more international. So more focus, maybe even specific sections, for different countries. In this way, there would be a lot more country specific information available.

What do you guys think about this?

I think it would be great to have designated volunteers to represent WSO in different cities. I'm not quite sure how to articulate the role, but it would be something along the lines of how we have the current happy hour / events organizers, perhaps with more publicity (ie, "contact x-person @ this email for more info about happy hours, events, meetups, or just to meet new monkeys"). This would probably be a much greater asset in smaller cities or places where WSO is underrepresented. I know that the community has a lot of space to grow - I'm in NYC, and our happy hours (for instance) could definitely get better attendance. That said, it would probably be a good idea to solidify a sort of community development plan that would work overseas as well.

@WallStreetOasis, I'm definitely up for helping with that sort of thing, if such a role exists/comes up. Not sure if I'd be the right person though lol.

in it 2 win it

WSO does have campus reps around the world. I seem to recall seeing people in Canada, Singapore, England, Germany, and Italy on the Campus Rep list. Dunno how that would work though

Would be a great idea. There are lots of opportunities here. Really think we should focus on the Benelux first. From my own experience as current students, lots of studing don't know what to do and really want to go to conversations / meetings to network. But currently , there are no such options available here. Really think we should make use of student associations / universities to promote this. There really is audience for this and it definitely will become a succes.

The only thing is that WSO should build up a network of alumni / current employees to start it up in the Neterlands / Benelux. But I think they already got a lot of contacts at international firms, so this won't be a big problem I suppose.

Really? The Benelux should be the first region for an expansion? haha

Something different that could be improved is the performance of this side. Am I the only one who always has to wait such a long time to load a site? Especially for users in other countries this could become relevant.
