Interns - What computer are you using?

Hello All,

I'm interning this summer, and I finally made the jump from Mac to PC and it has changed my life. The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon definitely has my stamp of approval. I am curious about what other interns are using this summer and what industry vets have to say about tech in the industry!

Macbook is dead asf. Lenovo is the shit. Macbooks are only good if you get a good price on it. But the utilities are not there anymore like the last 2015 models. OS got too complicated and buggy too. Office doesn’t work that natively as on Windows. 10/10 recc for a Lenovo. (You aren’t going to become the next Tarantino anyway with a Mac and iMovie lol “CrEAtIvE pRoFeSsIoNaL”) okay but the Apple Retina screen is good though. But can be topped off with any 4k screen.

I am using a HP Spectre 15inch with a 4K screen, 16 GB ram, 4gb video ram and a i7 processor. Pretty decked out and I think this is important.

When you intern virtually you use a virtual desktop and most of my peers have complained about their VDI lagging a lot because I think they don’t have enough power to run it. Would highly recommend the HP spectre and specifically a decked out version.
