Internship - Feedback on summer internships

Just wanted to get some feedback on internships this upcoming summer. I'm a junior and at an sec school school so I'm already blackballed by being at a non-target. Any ideas/tips/advice on getting a leg up on some of these target school kids would be much appreciated.

CNB90, my younger brother is at a non-target but he's interned at several places (Big4, Fortune 50 Corp Finance, PA senator fin advisor) and is a finalist(top 3 individual or team) for almost all case study competitions (EY, KPMG, PwC) and trading competitions(Traders Trophy, other) at his university. He's pushing a little over a 3.5 right now and his resume is pretty good. What do you think he should do/apply to now that is still recruiting?

He was planning on graduating this May and all of a sudden decided to stay an extra semester to take like 7 engineering courses. So he turned down his full-time offers and was considering summer sessions, then changed his mind last minute (last week) to do a summer internship.

Any ideas from anyone would be great.

well what is it that he wants to do? it honestly seems like hes all over the place(not that this is necessarily bad--he does have a lot of experience). hes interned in accounting/consulting, corpfin, done trading competitions...does he have a particular sector in mind?? seems like hes just interested in literally every sector of finance right now...need to know a little more about his end goal...
