Internship Recruiting - Full time informational sessions
I realize this doesn't take place until the fall but how do recruiters/bankers look upon students who go to the full time information sessions at schools that take place a few months before the internship sessions to try to get a leg up on the internship application process? I figure this is a good way to make contacts beforehand.
Thanks.
It doesn't make a difference. Nobody remembers you, even if they remember your name.
nobody will remember you and it won't give you an advantage, but I found them to be helpful. you get a lot of information about the firm and whether you actually want to work there.
slightly suprising. wouldn't it help to meet someone at one of these things in the fall get their card etc. and then keep in touch with them over the winter when recruiting season comes around?
They have enough prospective full-timers who "want to keep in touch" that they really wouldn't pay much attention to you.
That being said, as long as you don't make a negative impression by being pushy, i suppose you don't have much to lose by trying.
by the way, are young alumni analysts I meet at these things for the most part genuinely interested in helping us kids out or is everyone just too busy to remember who you are after they head back to nyc?
