Internship search from Atlanta non target school

I currently attend a non target university(Georgia State University) in Atlanta. I currently have a back office internship at a Bulge Bracket in the city but I want a front office internship elsewhere. I have a solid resume and head several finance related clubs at the University. However, my connections are weak, time is ticking and I’m stressed. I attend many networking events and my network is growing, slowly but surely. Any words of advice for contacting alumni, cold calling or cold emailing. Also, I’m a current second year, graduating in 2021, majoring in Finance and minoring in Computer Science.

You are definitely on the right path, having a BB internship as a freshman is very unique. As a sophomore time is not really ticking for another 6-9 months, at least on the junior year interviews (most important). Don't get too burnt out now when you could be facing another year of recruiting.

Keep up with your connections every few months, maybe more often when you're getting towards junior recruiting. ask them about their timelines when it gets closer. If you're stressed about it, take at least 2-3 weeks off of the networking/finance/worrying grind and just chill. You're too early in the process to already be burnt out, and down time is honestly fine at this stage.

Around December call some Atlanta (or wherever you're from) boutiques or MM firms and see if they have anything for sophomore summer.
