intern/work after undergrad

I was wondering, how hard it would be to break in to a BB firm, if I work for a middle market firm say like Paulson before I went to B-school. Would I still be able to break into a BB firm as an associate in like SF or NY or even Boston after B-school, If I never worked at a BB as an analyst before B-school? Just wondering because I don’t know if I want to leave my smaller city (I’m in Portland at the moment) yet in tell after I have finished all of school. Just to minimize how much I jump around and prevent a Oregon-SF-B-school-NY moving spree.

Edit: Alot of people say I will also gain alot more experience working at a smaller firm

Thats what i want to hear :) Thanks, im Currently a Economics major at U of O but we have a Branch campus for NYU here in town, with a economics department, i was going to look into, I'll probably end up interning with Paulson then going to work for them for a couple years after grad, then i would like to get into B-School at Kellogg, Columbia, or NYU.. would be nice :)
