Interview Math Test
Has anyone ever had to take a"Basic" Math test at an interview before? If so what did it consist of?
I will be going in today and have a 30 question 45min math test, they said it was basic knowledge that goes up to algebra.
Thanks

Should give you a good idea of what the tests are like. Most of the time, they are exactly as they say in that they only require algebra skills. Shouldn't be too much of an issue, I wouldn't worry about it. Frankly, the biggest problem is they are straight forward enough you second guess your answers if you worry too much.
I have taken tests for prop trading groups... Generally it was statistics/probability mixed in with logic questions requiring algebra...
we give straight up IQ tests. i am sure this is illegal in some places, but it's all pen and paper.
I had to do a quant exam similar to the GMAT's math section. required only basic algebra and arithmetic, but mostly word problems. the questions itself weren't terribly difficult, but what made it tough was that i had 30 min to complete 30 questions (in the GMAT you have 2 min per question).
it will vary by subsect/firm. mine was for a PE shop.
good luck.
While interviewing I have had to take simple probability tests, GMAT like test with very limited time (Oliver Wyman), McKinsey PST, and even a Wonderlic test.
If they specified its math, its probably just that - just work on being fast with 3 digit addition 2digit multiplication simple algebra etc
Good advice, is it really beneficial to have this type ok skill?
Never heard of it in the US, very common in Eur
