Interview prep - Interview coming up with a business consulting firm - Market research analyst
So it seemed like my last thread got no attention. I have an interview coming up with a business consulting firm called Analytic Partners in NYC. The position I'm interviewing for specifically is market research analyst.
The job description doesn't say much but I'll post it anyways: The analyst role is a key position in the project team--taking ownership of key phases of the research project including analysis, client contact and presentation delivery.
The role develops, standardizes and analyzes statistical databases and consistently delivers high quality and accurate analytics, visuals and reports.
How do I prepare for these type of interviews? Most of my focus has been on IB lately. I went through a phone interview and online test already. Any suggestions?
Anyone? Any advice?
Hi
I sent you a pm. maybe you didn't get it. How did your interview go? Any advice?

There's not much information about them online. But the people seem very successful and they can probably be classified as a market research firm. Does anyone know, or can predict what kind of questions will be in the phone interview for such firm?
Thank you!
I interviewed with them. It was mostly fit-based ("Walk me through your resume," "tell me more about yourself," etc.), and then they're willing to answer any questions you have about them. I would say have some interesting questions about the firm that set you apart from other applicants. Since there isn't too much about them online, it will look good if you take the initiative to learn more about what they do.
Thank you. Was your interview at their office? Did you get a glimpse of what they're doing there?
Mine was over the phone. I turned down a 2nd round because I got an offer at another firm. I would say, ask the interviewer about where they see the firm going in the next few months/years (I believe they're trying to register with the SEC, so you could ask how this will change processes/compliance at the firm). Depending on who's interviewing you, I believe you can find a little blurb about them on Locus's main website, and you can also peak around Linkedin to see what their specific role is (it sounds like Analysts take on a lot of different roles based on their past experiences). Most of all, just have your story down so that you can tell it casually without sounding scripted, and be ready to answer most of the basic "fit" questions that come up in interviews.
Good luck!
