Interview Question - Do IBs tailor interviews to interviewee's area of study?

Do I-Banks tailor the interviews to the interviewee's area of study.

For example, would an econ major get more econ related questions, or are the tech questions comparable for each candidate?

I guess what I am really asking is I know that I need to know my finance, but do I also need to brush up on my econ?

Also, if I put languages on my resume, should I be prepared to speak in those languages?

For example, would an econ major get more econ related questions, or are the tech questions comparable for each candidate? -depends on the interviewer, if you're non-finance, you might get elementary level accounting questions.

I guess what I am really asking is I know that I need to know my finance, but do I also need to brush up on my econ? -yes, you should because anything on the resume is fair game, if you say you're a chess player,it's a fair game for them to give you a tough chess puzzle

Also, if I put languages on my resume, should I be prepared to speak in those languages? -definitely, you might run into people who know how to speak.

Everything really comes down to the interviewer. I didn't major in finance or accounting, but some banks asked a number of questions in both fields while others asked none.

As for the language, yes. Be prepared to hold conversations in whichever language you know because I guarantee you someone at the bank speaks it.

I personally feel like if you can't hold a conversation (even though it might be slow) then don't bother because it just looks bad when you can't speak it and you are trying to prove that you can.

They can care less about what language you can speak. It might make you unique but you're taking on more risk than the potential reward for knowing how to speak that language.
