Interviewer Ambiguity

Had a fixed income research interview at a BB recently (think CS, DB), and I'm waiting to hear back. The interviewer told me I should hear back by the end of this past week, and he made it seem like I'd be hearing back either way. However, I haven't gotten an update yet.

Should I assume I'm a no-go or an alternate since no news is typically bad news in regard to these things, or is it reasonably possible they just have gotten delayed a bit since the markets have been a bit haywire recently?

I'm mainly unsure because the interview went well & definitely was longer than usual, and the interviewer seemed like he was pitching the position to me at the end.

Insight/opinions/experiences would be great to hear

Maybe the candidate after you was better.

carry on life as if you won't get an offer from them. If you do get an offer, that's great. If you don't, you are no worse off.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.
