Interviewing with tech bank that I have no interest in
Have an interview with a bank focused on tech but i have absolutely 0 interest in the tech industry. How should I go about this interview? Should I just fake interest or should I admit that I don't really follow tech but still think its cool and am passionate about banking.
Also any recommendations on how to get caught up on the tech market? Specifically saas
What's the point of interviewing for an industry that you won't enjoy working in? You should let the team know that you aren't interested in tech and ask them to connect you with the industry group that you actually are interested in. It's a win-win situation because you get to interview for an industry you enjoy and a different person gets the chance to interview for the tech industry, which they probably like more than you currently do.
No, the bank is focused only on tech lol
Is this for Qatalyst?
no
Well that's for you to decide. If it came down to deciding whether to work for them for 2 years...would you like tech part?
I'd maybe read stuff like techcrunch or like wired
What should I say in interviews tho. Fake passion or admit not super interested in tech but still think its cool
Then probably just say you're not really interested in tech.
I had an interview for a tech bank also and they didnt even ask me why tech for first round. Was more curious as to where else I'm interviewing at.
