Insead international exposure?

Anyone with an IB background who spent 4 years just making pitch books and models w/o any international exposure get into Insead? They seem to emphasize on the international exposure part.

With a high GPA and GMAT of course.

Job placement in recent years hasn't been that great compared to top U.S. programs. It does well in MBB consulting and European offices of PE firms, but keep in mind that a lot of those people are being sponsored by those firms. Finally, I haven't been too impressed with the caliber of the student body there, but that's just my opinion of course.

That's a strictly American sentiment. It's not accurate at all.

Based on my research (the past 2+ years of it) it's not that simple. You need to go in speaking 2 languages, learn a third, and no - not everyone is sponsored.

It IS much stronger as a brand in Europe, and keep in mind that they turn over many more students yearly, so it can saturate the brand a bit.

Bottom line is that it's a much better sell vs. M7 if you're looking to stay international (in Europe). I do a fair amount of traveling overseas and all I've heard is that it's even more recognized than some M7 programs outside of the US.

That said, the profile is much different. Usually applicants are older, and the Americans who do go do so to escape the 2-year program and play in Europe.

Correct. It has an awesome placement into MBB consulting, but a good chunk are those who were there before and are being sponsored. A friend is at INSEAD right now, and recruiting for both consulting and banking has been abysmal. This could be due to the conditions in Europe rather than INSEAD itself.

I'm grateful that I have two middle fingers, I only wish I had more.
