Investment banking: hours at each level
Although this kind of data is everywhere on the internet, I'm yet to find a compiled list of the average hours for each level of the investment banking hierarchy. If possible, include if employees at each level get a protected weekend as well.

It's tough to really pinpoint an exact average. The truth is it's highly group dependent so it varies significantly at different places, and even so each group has its own variance month to month. If you were to create a "football field" for hours worked, it's going to be between 80-110 hours at the analyst level, and probably falls ~5 hours each time as you move up.
Analyst: Whenever your Associate wants you to work. Associate: Whenever your VP wants you to work. VP: Whenever your Director wants you to work. Director: Whenever your MD wants you to work. MD: Whenever the Group Head wants you to work.

Isn't that how it works? Group Head is the boss and if the MD isn't bringing in enough Revenue they get cut?
SB for accuracy. But to Tony's point, yes MD's are just allowed to do whatever they want. They either sink or swim. No different than PE.
One underrated point is while the raw number of hours worked drops as you move up the ladder, the amount of travel actually increases. Factor in travel time and the like, I find the time spent on actually working is roughly the same, even if you aren't in front of a computer screen
If you are asking about the hours this is the wrong industry. Life is work. Work is life. Welcome to IBD.
