Anyone heard of IPREO?

You may or may not have heard of IPREO being acquired by Goldman and Blackstone not too long back. I am curious about how the street perceives IPREO, if at all. Most notably, a number of banks use the the firm's web-based platform for syndication purposes, however I work as an analyst supporting REIT clients.

I am looking to rotate into a specialty REIT/real estate investing firm (ie: Cohen & Steers, RREEF, Heitman, LaSalle) and am wondering if this transition is feasible out of the gate, or would I have to transition to the sell-side first?

Any input into breaking into this industry would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
