Is a UK Masters worth it?

Hi all,

Dream path would be to experience IB for 5 years -> Asset management/ PE. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions as to whether it would be worth going over to the UK and paying approx. AUD 60k for a Masters degree from LSE/Cambridge or whether trying to get a job in Australia and then hoping for a Secondment abroad would be better?

I am personally very interested in doing a Masters but also not sure whether Data Science/Stats (again more personal interest) would make it more difficult than a Msc Fin for IB? Does anyone have any experience from a similar situation or know whether coming over to the UK for a year puts you at a significant disadvantage for breaking into IB compared to local applicants? Is a Masters generally a waste of money straight after undergrad? Also concerned about the economic situation and some Summer and Winter internships in Australia getting cancelled or having severely reduced intakes.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
