Is Citadel going public? Implications...
After Friday's big jump for Fortress, some are saying that Citadel might be going public, not as a hedge fund but as an investment bank. (http://www.forbes.com/markets/2007/02/09/citadel-…)
Is this true and what would the implications be for a junior-level worker?
After Fortress' success, I imagine that all big funds would at least toy with the idea of going public-- I wouldn't doubt that Citadel will consider it too. Huge windfall possibilities involved...
Substantial retainer bonuses? I know during acquisitions most places will give their jr. people very nice retainer bonuses so they don't jump ship. The last thing an acquirer wants is to see the talent leave in droves.
shouldn't affect junior people b/c none of them hold partnership interests.
