Entitlement is very rarely a real thing. What is real is people feeling and acting entitled to things they are not entitled to.

Wow, I agree with GoldenCinderblock on a rare occasion. Entitlement is a GOOD thing if you are entitled--contracts entitle you, promises entitle you. Entitlement is a bad thing--it's a poisonous thing--if you FEEL entitled when you are, in fact, not entitled because your behavior in seeking that which you believe you are entitled (and are not) will likely be a hindrance on others.

"I'm entitled to a good job" means someone else has to provide a job for you that they have to pay for that doesn't help the employer. "I'm entitled to that woman" leads to an unfair imposition upon a woman. "I'm entitled to your stuff" leads to theft. And so on. It's pure poison.
