Is Fuqua a Target for BBs?

Is Duke's Fuqua MBA considered to be a target for BBs? Particularly asking this for IB and IM roles. Who really hires on campus?
And how well it is represented on the Street? Appreciate any thought/insight...

MBA- absolutely.

Undergrad- borderline, but not at all a hindrance.

Really? I thought it was the opposite:

Duke undergrad = target Duke MBA = borderline

I would agree. Undergrad = target, MBA is borderline. I attended quiet a few target presentations at Duke Inn and it was 95% undergrad with a few MBA/MS candidates. Either way, the school is definitely a target

Why did you apply to Duke? Clearly something about the program caught your attention. What post MBA outcome are you looking to attain? Take a look at Duke's employment reports if you want a glimpse of what its MBAs end up doing and their corresponding salary levels.

sorry, I meant, where do you want to go in the future?

you wrote

gonna get me where a Sloan MBA would have

so what is it that you think MIT will get you that you want so bad? that way we punters can comment on whether we think Duke can get you there equally

I love it a two people a troll and I suspect an FSU student or grad completely disagreeing with someone who is verified in the industry. haha WSO never ceases to amaze me.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Just cuz I work in the industry doesn't mean I'm right about everything.

But I would say regarding Seminole's post... just because an info session is well attended by UG doesn't make it a target school.

There would need to be significant UG OCR by probably 5-7+ major banks (i.e. BB and elite boutiques, not Harris Williams) to make it a target school for Undergrads.

thnx y'all. I'll take these as a Yes. What would you say for Cornell's Johnson MBA? A comparison maybe, as to comment on which one is a better target...

You don't need me to comment, you know, or should know... Fuqua is better.

Don't throw some rankings saying otherwise... people that are interviewing/hiring/screening you matter more than rankings in terms of what is more likely to get you an interview.

Perception is reality.

Duke doesnt even have an undergrad business major. Fuqua is just MBA

Nobody made any claims about Duke having an undergrad business major, just that it was an undergrad target. Harvard, Princeton, and Yale don't have undergrad business majors either, but they seem to do okay.

Duke undergrad is definitely not a target for BBs. MBA maybe. honestly, i go to a target school for BBs and I've never even heard of Fuqua. That could be part ignorance, but when I worked in Merrill's Wealth Management Division as an intern, non of the finance professionals we targeted went to Fuqua.
