Is it possible to join fulltime directly after internship?
A bit of context: I accepted a corporate banking offer at a BB for a summer internship. I'm graduating this semester with a BBA from a target school. During the interview/recruiting process I told them that I was going back to school directly after undergrad to get a Masters degree (1 year Master of Accounting).
If I receive a return offer after the internship, is it possible to start full-time almost immediately after the internship? I am starting to rethink this Masters program because it's very expensive and I may not receive as much scholarship money as I had anticipated... I also found out that even if I pass the CPA exam, I probably won't be able to obtain the license because no one on the team has a CPA and cannot satisfy my "experience" requirement. Therefore, what's the point in even getting a MAcc degree...?
Any thoughts/insights/experiences would be appreciated!

You need to talk to the bank about it. People have started full-time immediately after their internship before but it's usually done on a case-by-case basis. I do not think your chances of converting the internship will be harmed if you tell them that you have changed your mind about doing a Masters.

I don't think you should be worried about telling them. If you explain your circumstances they will understand.
Afaik analysts who start in January work normally alongside other analysts for their first few months and then join the rest for training in the summer.
Is it possible to start the full-time analyst program straight after finishing the summer internship? (Originally Posted: 11/30/2015)
Hi guys. I am a final year student from a target school in Britain with no prior internship experience in investment banking.
While going trhough the recruitment process for banking, I have found that having no relavent internship experience is a huge disadvantage, so I just made additional applications for the summer positions.
As a final year student, I will be graduating by the time the internships start, so I am very curious about whether banks allow their interns to convertt o the full-time position straight after the internship? (with an assumtion of getting a return offer) Or do I have to live on my unemployement benefit for a year and then join the bank..?
BTW I am talking about BBs in London.
Any ideas?
No. quite often they want you to start early (if they are thin on analysts) but even then you need to wait at least 2/3 months. They have to re-run compliance checks
Full Time Offer Directly After Internship (Originally Posted: 09/16/2018)
I was wondering if firms (specifically Canadian banks) ever begin full-time roles directly after a summer internship? As in if I were to complete an MBA level summer internship from, say May to August 2019, would I be able to start right in September 2019? I'm doing a one-year MBA program and therefore haven't done an internship and will be graduating in April or May of 2019.
Thanks
