Is It Really A Buyer's Market After You Turn 25?
Hi all,
I know we all have the goals of money, wealth, power, a hot gf, etc. - however, I think there's some kind of misguided belief that you'll turn into your city's most eligible bachelor once you pass your 25th birthday.
It's hilarious to see posts where people tout that it's a "buyer's" market when you're in your late 20s as a guy - never mind the fact that all your friends will most likely be in serious relationships/married, you'll be chasing burnt-out has-beens, and you'll still have the same weak mentality/game that kept you single/unattractive to the opposite (or same) gender in the first place.
Though, for the record, I do believe there is some truth to this statement.
Thoughts?
You mean the ladies aren't into 20something Aspie dudes with Pokemon fixations? Well color me shocked.
But I work @ GS...
It is a buyers market for the left overs
Why would you be chasing burned out has beens? 35 year old guys should not be dating 35 year old women.
It's far easier to get laid in Manhattan as a 30-something than at any other time in your life post-college. Seriously.
25 year old female, living in NYC. Mostly dating 45-50 year olds (HF managers, CEOs, etc.). Dated a 31 year old MBA & CEO of a start-up when I was a senior in high school. No way am I dating some junior analyst at GS, unless you can guarantee an interview & job offer...
I read your comment and instantly pictured you holding a sign that reads "Will suck dick for informational interviews"
Hahahahahahahaha
My point (if I have one at all) is that dating is just another form of networking... for the record, I haven't tried that particular strategy (cardboard signage is for OWS bums). But I have gotten very good career advice & connections through some of the guys I've dated.
Man, what kind of clown friends do you have that are all married at 25? Farmers? haha.
Dude, hopefully by 25 and above you mature enough to be interesting and relatively confident. I have doubts on both accounts by the simple fact you think has beens are still single at 25 and above.
"Serious relationships/married" - typical of people who come from normal places
LMAO. I don't consider the cow patch to be normal places.
Spoken like a true 31 year old :) Have fun w/ the exponentially increasing risk of having kids!
Yeah kid, that is what I concern myself with. I'd imagine breeding is an important topic on the farm.
Newsflash guys - if you're not getting girls now you won't get them when you're 25, 30, or whenever. Being a banker at GS won't improve your game. You'll still be a squid.
Stop wasting your time: date younger chicks.
If it takes you that long to figure out the game, then...
Meeting women in NYC requires the least amount of "game" one could possibly conceive. It's always a buyer's market.
Absolutely true
Words can't describe the hyperbole of most of the posts in this thread.
Also: I don't care either way but I call bullsh*t on everything killerkoala says. At least all Brady4MVP's lies were about friends.
That or we could learn some impressive succubus skills from him/her/it
I'm adding "succubus skills" to my LinkedIn profile. Thanks for the endorsement.
Threads like this really highlight the demographics on this site. Average age people get married is around 29-30 for men and 26-27 for girls. You aren't mature or experienced enough (in most cases) to be getting married at 25.
Shit, if you are married at 25 you must have met this person at 22. That or dated really briefly.
To be fair, people in some cultures marry far earlier than others and have fulfilling lives.
I know of bankers/traders/PE associates in NYC (4 or 5 junior and at least 2 senior) that were married at 22-24 to 19-23 year old girls. Now in late 20s to mid 30s with the same spouse and kid(s). Successful careers, fulfilled wives; seem to be very happy.
This thread would suggest that life is binary or one-size-fits-all. NYC is atypical, but not the stereotype it is made out to be in this thread.
time bomb right there
This pitchbook explains it. If you are a hard working and talented male like George Clooney wait as long as possible for a merger. Instead stay single (i.e. IPO).

Since we are anonymous blobs online I simply go with US stats.
What is with this inundation of marriage posts lately? Making me depressed.
Holidays are here and everyone is feeling a little more lonely than usual.
I am feeling lonely, come cuddle haha
I hear there's some girl in NYC that sells cuddle session. Like 60 bucks an hour.
Just one? This sounds like a job for craigslist
Dude, I know. Counting down the hours. Have to work day after Thanksgiving though. Ugh.
@heister, I know you don't! @TNA I do as well. Half day and I'm not going to do anything except try not to fall out of my chair.
Your friends are married at 25? Are you some poor hillbilly?
