Is it too late for me to pursue IB?

It is currently the middle of my sophomore summer, and I haven't really done anything at all thus far to prepare for IB, and the recruiting process started in April.

I go to a semi-target and have an okay GPA (3.6), and am starting a private equity internship in a week, but I only went to a few info sessions this past year and didn't talk to anyone. I have done no networking.

Am I to far into the recruiting timeline to put effort in? Are there still applications open, and if there are, what are reasonable goals to set for myself? I am 100% willing to grind if there are still opportunities available.

I guess my main question is- where should I start at this point in my sophomore summer?

Some BBs haven't even started yet (except for maybe targets) - Credit Suisse, Wells Fargo, BAML, Barclays. I also know that Centerview hasn't started. I'd recommend trying to find some alumni from your school at those firms and shoot them a short email about your interest, and that you want to learn more. 75% of breaking into IB is just networking, so that should be your #1 goal right now.

Definitely not too late, Citi/JPM/CS/MS are still recruiting and several MM's and boutiques haven't even started yet. You've got a relevant PE internship and you're at a semi-target, so network aggressively with alumni and you just might land something. Good luck!

To infinity... and beyond!
