Is it too late? - Help getting started
Hi guys, have always found WSO to be helpful and so thought I'd present my situation here and see what people think.
So Im currently studying an MSc in Financial Engineering at Imperial College Business School (GMAT: 700), no relevant work experience. Just a bunch of rejections during undergrad ( non target) and decided to do my masters straight after my undergrad (hindsight).
Initial plan was to go the quant route hence masters but that's changed now and its obviously too late to apply for the 2018 intake at the BBs looking for front office, preferably S&T but M&A appeals to me as well. Also applying buy-side to AMs because why not, have got nothing to lose.
So I technically finish my masters in a month but graduation is in Spring 2019 (don't know why) . Should graduate with at least a merit possibly a distinction. My questions would be because of no experience would it be best to apply for an internship? Would the fact that I'd have finished my masters completely mean that I'm too late and with no shot as most of the applicants will still be in their undergrads? Or should I go for the full time despite not having any experience?
Also is there anything you guys would recommend doing in the next year as most intake would be in September 2019.
Thanks a lot
