Is it too late to switch from HF to IB for post-MBA full-time recruiting?
Hello monkeys,
I am looking for your direct opinion and advice. I am a second year MBA student at a top ten MBA school. I was planning to go into HF post-MBA, however, as you know, the industry isn't exactly growing at the moment. My investing approach (in part) is to look for companies that could be a good acquisition/takeout target. I employ a deep dive research, valuation analysis and a thorough due-diligence process, including talking to executives and other experts abut trends in the markets and industries. This spiked my interest in the M&A arm of investment banking. I believe it could be something I could strive at in a long- or short-term. Therefore, given the sad condition of the HF recruiting I am thinking to transition my focus towards IB. The train for on-campus recruiting left a long time ago and I am looking for your advice to evaluate my options.
What is the best way to get into IB (ideally M&A) post-MBA with no prior experience or internship in IB at this point?
Thanks for your help! Bananas of gratitude will be thrown your way
