Is my current trajectory looking M7/T10 worthy?

I wanted to get an idea if my career trajectory is looking M7/T15 worthy.

Background

Age: 24M (Will be ~30 for matriculation)
Race: Black & Asian (Mainly identify as black, am I still considered a URM?)

Work Exp: 3 Years of retail banking at Wells Fargo (first job out of high school). Decided to go back to school to do bigger & better things. Got accepted into the Navy's Nuclear Propulsion Program during my junior year of college. After graduation, I'll be a Nuclear Power School Instructor teaching nuclear theory to the enlisted/officers of the nuclear Navy. This is a 5 year commitment and my plan is to transition to a good MBA program when it is completed.

Education: I'm in my senior year of Chemical Engineering at a fairly average state school. I'm anticipating on graduating with a 3.70 GPA if I play my cards right

Extracurriculars: Elected by majority vote into student government as a senator. In this position I created and amended bills/resolutions that affected 2500+ engineering undergraduate students. Vice president of AICHE. Was on Exec. board for my social fraternity. Campus tour guide.

Stats
GMAT: Haven't taken yet but practice scores are in the 700-720 range. Planning to take right after graduation.

Undergrad GPA: Currently a 3.63 in my senior year. Aiming to get this to a 3.70 by graduation. How much different will a 3.65 vs a 3.7 look to adcoms given my STEM major at an average public state school?

MBA Info

Goal of MBA: Transition from the military into a well respected MBA program to recruit into MBB.

Target schools: M7/T10

So I realize that I still have a long way to go, but I'm pretty dedicated to getting into a top tier MBA. Part of the reason I decided on the military route was the 'prestige' of the program I'm in. There are lack of well-known companies that recruit at my school due to its mediocrity. I plan on further pursuing more leadership roles during my commitment in the Navy. How is my profile looking so far? I welcome all criticism and appreciate your thoughts!

You will be ok. Need to cross the 700 mark on your GMAT. Once you check that box, your application looks solid. However, not sure what GMAT scores or even MBA admissions are going to look like 5 years from now. Don't think you are going to make it into HSW, but MBA business schools">M7 is definitely doable.

GPA above 3.5 is all that matters and you are also a chem eng major, so you're fine.

Go visit schools in the year before you apply. Most do a vets open house or even weekend. Its a great experience.

You should have plenty of time off as an instructor. I was an officer student 7 years ago.

Hey thanks for the response!

I noticed through your profile that you've gotten into the MBA business schools">M7, do you mind sharing what your stats were? What would you recommend I do to increase my chances at HSW tier schools or am I already too far behind the curve?

I plan on taking advantage of the extra time I have as an instructor to demonstrate solid leadership by taking on supplemental duties at NPS and various projects throughout Charleston, but yeah I definitely won't be able to really compete with the type of leadership and responsibility the officers on the operational side will have.

700/3.6 as a finance major from a decent private school, ranked between 40-50.

You have the GPA and will get the work experience, you just need a 700+ GMAT. Essays play as important a role as your stats. Don't get tricked into believing GMAT/GPA is everything (which is what's talked about here and other MBA blogs). Military applicants are not typically going to differentiate themselves based on stellar stats. Schools want military people based on their experience, and essays are where you communicate that.

Idk about HS, maybe Wharton. HS are in their own league. HSW are also not going to limit your opportunity unless your goal is PE/VC/HF, which wouldn't be possible anyway since those jobs require specific pre-MBA experience.

For HS, you typically need a compelling life story/experience in addition to high GMAT/high GPA from a top undergrad. NNPP instructor is going to lose out to the guy with a bronze star from Afghanistan. Maybe you have a unique life story, which it sounds like based on working straight out of high school. Not saying you can't do it, the military profile tends to be a service academy->elite part of the military. I know that your job is selective, but adcoms dont and you wont want to waste your essay explaining that.

Last - don't let anyone on this website, peers, or admissions consultant tell you not that your profile is not strong enough. If you want it, go for it. ;) These are just one guy's thoughts. Good luck and start the process early, 2 years out.
