Is Real Estate Advisory a coverage / m&a group?

Hi all,

I applied for an internship in Real Estate Advisory but I don't exactly know whether it's a coverage / m&a team or real estate finance (structured finance team) or even something else. I'm looking for a corporate finance / IBD (as defined here in WSO) to gain experience before I apply to summer internship.
Btw, I did an internship in ECM and I don't want to be stuck in Structured Finance / Capital Markets so I prefer trying another department before being labelled as a such a banker (Even if I really enjoyed my time in ECM)

Here is the description of the job:

The team is involved in mergers, fund raising, debt restructuring, debt & equity arranging and special situations in the real estate sector.
The trainee will be incorporated to the Real Estate Advisory team and will perform primarily the following tasks:
- Build cash flow models,
- Perform financial analysis,
- Assist in the preparation of pitch books for clients,
- Gather & analyse sector trends,
- Assist in the execution of mandates,
- Analyse and summarise due diligence material.

Your job will enable you to develop:
• Technical Know-How (financial analysis, excel modelling),
• Financial & risk analysis skills in real estate,
• Knowledge of the real estate market,
• Interpersonal skills.

Scratchy:
I still have various mandatory internships to do before I graduate, so I think it's wise to try different things in the banking industry before I apply to summer internships, which almost imply you have decided what and where you want to work.

What? How where? mandatory? Jesus is that u?
