Is sophomore PE internship relevant?

I am planning on working at a lower MM PE firm this summer (in the range of 400-1000mil AUM). I will be doing a mix of sourcing, industry research, financial valuation, and other quantitative projects. The firm has been doing decently in the past few years, but I was wondering if trying to find a boutique IB internship would be better to prepare for SA recruiting this fall.

If you took a few minutes too use the search bar or google to research it you would know the answer is obviously yes. A boutique IB internship is very good too but depending on the firm / the validity of your firm (what banks did their associates / VPs work at before?), a PE internship could be just as good or better. The PE internship will be more than adequate on the “experience checklist” for any IB job you would persue next summer.
