Is the government a business?

Came across this video which highlights the differences between a democratic government and a business, in the context of the Trump administration. Clearly left leaning; certainly thought provoking. Watch and discuss.

Left leaning
Informative

Pick one.

Certainly left-leaning, but I fail to understand how many Americans are so blinded by capitalism (or anti-socialism), that they do not see the role of government as a provider of essential services. A social welfare structure such as the ones in most European countries reduces the wealth-gap, creates greater incomes for all citizens, and thus improves the lifestyle and the economic spending of its citizens.

That being said, the Dems are so fixated with the idea of a social welfare blanket, pampering citizen needs at the cost of billions in govt debt, that I am literally puzzled by whether they see the economics of this and understand the math behind it. Of course, if the USA would know that it's more productive to spend billions on basic healthcare and education, over military spending, then we wouldn't be having regular debates on Dems vs Reps.
