Is this bad form in the office?
I work at a trading desk on the west coast, which means I get up at 3:45 and get to the office by 5:00 AM. We don't really have lunch breaks, so everyone eats at the desk. I bring a sandwich every day for lunch, which takes me about 10mins to make in the morning. Today while sitting on the porcelain throne, I had an awesome idea of bringing sandwich supplies to the office. I can leave it in the fridge and just slap a sandwich together there. Is this embarrassing/frowned upon?
The extra 10 minutes of sleep would be amazing...
Depends on the firm, but I know plenty of people who do exactly that and make food in the kitchen. I don't think that would be much of an issue honestly. Just don't be that person that messes the kitchen up and leaves without cleaning up.
There were a couple of people at my last job who did this exact thing. No one cared or said a word about it. Go for it and if someone says something to you then stop, but I think you wont find any issues with this.
ok sounds good, I am just hesitant because I'm the youngest and just started a month ago
You can also make the sandwich the night before. Just an idea.
damnn u take 30 min for pooping?
Whip up another 'which in the afternoon if you get hungry, play on playa
Better yet, hire an intern to make the 'which for you
Sing it again rookie biotch
Who wants cream? Okay, no cream then
Gotta say, I'm lazy as hell when it comes to food prep, but Jimmy John's is also a great option in these types of situations.
I did this at one of my jobs. No one cared. Hell, no one even noticed that I was in the kitchen making a sandwich. Which surprised me, because being female I would have figured that was the first place they'd look when trying to find me.
Fuck me, getting up at 3.45am?! How long have you been doing this?
for about 5 weeks so far, took a week to fully adjust. I kind of like it, feels like my days are longer. And yes, I leave around 3-3:30 PM
if somebody cared about me making a sandwich at the office id prob quit
A trader friend does this and no one cares. He's pretty quick though and this is on the buy-side where it's quite intimate.
