Is this possible/feasible: REPE --> BB IB?

So I secured an REPE internship this summer at a firm with $10B AUM in two roles PM and IR.

I go to a target school in the northeast, am a sophomore, and have a 3.7.

A bunch of my friends were able to land sophomore summer internships at big banks, giving them solid footing for junior summer internships. What do you recommend I do to start preparing and standing out for the big bank applications? I feel as though the internship I landed this summer is not that "big" because it is not in Acquisitions (or am I wrong?).

Any advice is highly appreciated

If you are a Sophomore at a target school with a good GPA and a relevant financial background you shouldn't have many problems getting interviews for your preferred firms next year. That said, you're still competing with other students who have similar credentials. If you want to stand out start networking with alumni, express your interest early, and know your stuff.
Side note: landing an internship at a REPE firm with $10B is not a "small" achievement. Just keep working towards your goal, you don't have to compare yourself to your classmates along the way.

I totally understand where you're coming from. I am mainly concerned with the fact that the internship is not in an acquisitions role, but in portfolio management and investor relations roles. From my understanding, getting as much technical skill (modeling, etc.) is the best primer for junior summer recruiting at the big banks, which is my end goal. Do you think rejecting the offer and searching for something in acquisitions would be better?
