Is this weird?

I am a 2nd year Analyst in a top group at a BB. I have completed a few transactions since I started and have an offer to go to a UMM PE shop at the end of my 2nd year. Even though I accepted a PE offer, I ultimately would like to work in long-term public equities fund. I accepted my currently role as I felt that PE would give me the necessary preparation for the role that I would like in the future (rather than directly jumping into it).

With that said, would it be weird if I set up information interviews (just to hear about people's jobs and roles) at different long-only funds or hedge funds? I did this a lot when I was a student in college, but is this a little bit weird now that I am out of school and in the professional workforce?
