Is USD240k total comp too low for 2nd year associate at MM PE ?

I am a 2nd year associate at MM PE based in HK. Most recent fund size is ~USD600m. Base salary is little over USD120k, and bonus is said to be 80~150% of base. I think ~100% in bonus is a more realistic expectation, which brings my total comp to USD240k. I know approx 300k is the market average for IB/PE, but do PEs in HK tend to pay less than in the US?

dude you are worse off than people on welfare. Take a step back, your life isn't that bad..

Honestly think that's way on the high end for a fund that size. Would classify that more as LMM by US standards. And LMM pay doesn't typically reach 240k. Plus HK taxes are low so you're in a really good position. I know people at UMM funds that don't make 240k.

In HK along with China, this is considered very decent comp for your fund size…
