West Palm Beach looks good (some areas) but it's not fun for a young person imo. Mostly old people go there to retire. Unless you're ready to drive an hour+ to Fort Lauderdale/DelRay frequently or you don't care for a close-by social scene, I wouldn't recommend.

 

West palm beach itself is not very nice. You walk down one block from the downtown area and you’re in a complete ghetto. However, right across the bridge is palm beach (different than west palm) which is probably the nicest town in the entire usa. Palm beach is where Trump and many other celebrities live. With that being said, I think living in south Florida is better than nyc, just don’t live in west palm.
