Jabra earphones?
Anyone have experiences with Jabra earphones? I'm in the market for a new pair of earphones I can use for both professional and personal use (running and working out). I quite like Jabra's other products like their speakerphone, but don't have experience with their earphones.
If not Jabra's what do you recommend? (preferably not airpods, I think they're overpriced).
Just go cheap. You'll probably lose them anyway. Soundpeats are nice for $25. They beat the shit out of our giveaway knockoff earpods ($4.10, and yes I'm holding onto my iPhone 6S for the headphone jack)
I know airpods and similar mid / high end earbuds seem like a waste but they're the best investment I've made quite honestly. When you consider the amount of use you get out of them I think it's better to go for high quality. Pre-COVID I used to wear them:
I would easily get 6-8 hours use / day out of them and my airpods / QC 35's have been great. You want something quality sounding and comfortable for sure.
I would recommend: Airpods Sony QC 35s Sony WF - 100xm3
I have / used to own all these and prior models and they're fantastic.
I am very far from an audiophile, and my use case is primarily podcasts on the train, (The Daily, Economist Intelligencer, Trillions) but I think that you're going a bit overboard on cost.
I tend to agree - I throw up a bit whenever I think about how much I have spent on headphones - and if you are price sensitive don't recommend stretching to buy one of those three (although I would hard sell the airpods only because I mocked them until I had them).
Personally my favorites are the powerbeats 3 which you can get for like $79.99 - great sound quality for working out, great design that stays in and don't have connection issues (don't get me started on the powerbeats pro's - I should have known better than to buy those).
WF-1000XM3 is amazing
The QCs are Bose btw but agree with everything you said
Big bose guy but I have some jabra as my workout/running earphones
How do you like the Jabra's? Their speakerphones are the best I've used, but curious if their earphones are the same quality?
sound quality isn't bad, but the pro are that they are super resistant (to sweat and water, wear and tear), good battery life
Agree with everyone's sentiments at one level or another. Yes the QC's are Bose (my absolute favorite and honestly a must have if you travel)
My initial issue when buying was uncertainty and analysis paralysis. There are so many "good" options in market but my biggest fear was buying a handful of $50-$75 products that crap out on me within 2-3 months (again, my use case was very heavy).
My recommendation would be to just go out to a Best Buy and try them (I believe the QC's are always on display for trial). Compare that to your past experience with any random corded earbuds and that may be all it takes to convince you. For me things like comfort for long use, quality, etc. were all really important.
I bought a pair of the wireless Jabra earbuds once. Didn't like it very much, it didn't fit my ears at all and felt clunky. I'm a huge personal fan of bose I have both a pair of bose qc for flights and entertainment use and I also have a pair of bose soundsport for working out. Would recommend both and every bose product I've ever bought has lasted me 2+ years.
I have had some jabra workout earphones. They had terrible fit, so-so sounds and not so great battery life. I stopped using them. I got some $25 Anker earphone last year and I would 100% get those anytime over.
I got some cheap Airpod Pro last month with Apple back to school promotion and I while I was strictly in the Airpods are ugly and expensive camp, these have completely wowed me. They work 1000x better than any other wireless headphones (I also have some Seinheiser Momentum 2 that have really great sound). If you are going to spend more than $25 on wireless earbuds, I would really recommend those.
