Jim Rickards

Just curious what people think of Jim Rickards? He works at Omnis and a ton of degrees from top schools (Tax, JD, MA, BA) and was an MD at RBC and UBS. He's been on CNBC and Bloomberg lately talking about everything from Libya to currency crises. In one of his interviews he talks about $7,000/oz gold. He also has a new book coming out called Currency Wars. This guy seems like a really smart guy to me but was curious to see what other people think since he kind of flies under the radar.

I'll put my neck out against this guy for $7,000 an ounce gold.

It's similar to the people referenced in the book about LTCM when they tried to buy all the silver. Once it got fairly high, people melted down all the silver they had in their attic etc. and they got swamped by the market.

Seems this guy is long gold and wants as many people to buy it as possible, Glen Beck style.
