Know a guy who worked for Kelso as a pre-MBA. Really don't know much other than that he got worked to the bone and made a ton of money. Not surprising given the large AUM for a relatively small team. He ended up at H/S for his MBA.

I only have one data point to go on, but this was his exact experience as well.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

Just wanted add that the late Louis Kelso was a true larger than life figure who advocated for employees to obtain ownership and share upsides of the firms they worked for, such as through Employee Stock Ownership Plans that he invented and popularized, hence effectively turning workers into owners and partners of the company.

Kelso the PE firm also has a JV with Blackrock, structured as a BDC, that provides financing to MM companies.

Too late for second-guessing Too late to go back to sleep.
