Joseph Abboud suits on sale at MW -- $180
Hi guys,
As the interview season warms up, I noticed that Men's Wearhouse was having a sale on Joseph Abboud suits. I like Abboud because they are well designed, fit well, and most importantly are made in the US (Massachusetts) where the build quality is better.
Right now, MW (which owns Abboud) has a sale on some of them for $180 if you buy online. This suit is probably going to be a great interview suit, assuming you get alterations done to fit you at your local dry cleaner:
Just FYI IlliniProgrammer The suits from MW don't fit like the real Joseph A suits from Italy. Just checked both stores. The clearance sale is really a good value though.
I almost forgot, you can get an extra 5% off if you go through mrrebates.com. So that brings the total cost down to $171 after the $9 rebate.
(If you're feeling nice, mrrebates gives me a referral bonus which costs you nothing if you click; if you're not feeling nice I still want to make sure you get the savings on this if you go directly to the site)
Ok, now I just hate you lol. I'm gonna be spending so much money! I've been passing JA on madision everyday at lunch debating on whether to splurge!! Now I have no execuse.
Just remember to take them to a good drycleaner and get them tailored for you. They can take the suit waist in an inch or so.
I really wish there were more slim fit suits on sale-- that style would be ideal for college kids and young analysts.
I also recommend ordering one or two at a time and not buying all four or five. Get the suit delivered, put it on, make sure it fits well. Get Mom or Dad or the gf to weigh in.
Again, MW has a few other options in the $180 range too. Navy always works well:

And if you're skinny, this guy might also work well for interviews and work, but please please please please ditch the vest:

There's some other choices in there too. I am not going to be the guy running around recommending sharkskin gray or black for interview suits (although my original interview at Lehman was in a sharkskin gray Stafford suit that made me look like I had just come from a baptism at a Methodist church in downstate Illinois), but one or two black suits or even sharkskin for regular workwear might work well.
IP, what kinda suits do you wear? legit curious
