JPM Corporate Wholesale Credit Risk Reporting Analyst.. Middle Office role? Back Office role?
I just had an interview for JPM Corporate Wholesale Credit Risk Reporting Analyst.. Though I'm certain that this isn't a FO role, I'm not quite sure if this is a MO or BO role. I would be happy if this is a MO role but when I asked whether this is a middle office or back office role to the interviewer, she kind of circled back the question and said this role involves working with all business lines.. Hmm. Any inputs? Thank you in advance.
Sounds like it could be a back office role but I don't know if it really matters whether you classify it as BO or MO. The word "reporting" makes it seem BO though.
I guess the classification is rather unimportant. However, I was trying to distinguish this as MO sounds more like a place where there's more interaction with FO and there is more room for career advancing opportunities. I asked my friend who is in FO at JPM and was told that this job won't be too helpful in terms of professional growth. I was wondering if this is true.
On another note, does anyone know if I can make a transition to Risk Management from this reporting role?
Wbat are your other options? Does the job description say anything about analyzing financial statements and researching credit ratings, etc?
It is neither back office nor middle office. It's off to the side.
What do you mean? Could you please clarify that?
Risk is usually middle office. However sounds like you would be doing reporting for risk management which is probably back office
This is correct. If your role were simply "Credit Risk" you'd be in MO, anything reporting / reconciling related is squarely BO.
