JPM (London) vs GS (SG/HK)

Dear all,

As an inexperienced student I am really hoping to seek some advice.

Context: I am studying in London (from Singapore) and I applied to JPM London (CADP) and Goldman Sachs' HK/SG office (HCM). I'm not into front office so please no comments about that, not everyone is cut out for IBD.

I have just been given an offer for JPM's CADP SA internship but am currently waiting for Goldman Sachs to let me know if I will be getting a super day (they will let me know latest in 3 days according to the recruiter). I am just wondering if its worth negotiating with JPM to give me a longer dateline. In general, which is a better programme to be in?

The GS recruiter seemed quite nice and thanked me for letting them know that I hold a competing offer. HCM is a safer choice for me as I've always been interested in Human Capital (consulting) while CADP allows me to better understand FS and the world of finance in general.

Constructive feedback please! Thank you

Thats true. I do agree with the part where once I leave London it would be very difficult for me to come back.

As for the job, I'm not sure. HCM is safe for me and I know I want to do that but CADP can potentially do much more. I was promised a role with a lot of opportunity to innovate and problem-solve in CADP but for all I know that's not their actual plan, so its a huge risk.
