JPM Private Bank Associate - hiring qualifications

From what I have read the JPM Private Banking Associate Program seems to be geared to full time MBA grads.

I am scheduled to finish a part-time MBA program in the Spring and have 8 years Private Wealth experience with a competitor in a role supporting senior wealth managers in the investment and Relationship management processes.

Any thoughts on whether JPM would consider hiring a part-time MBA grad and if so the best way to position myself in applying for investor/ banker associate roles.

It is relationship based. I would start networking with some PB guys now. Get on their radar. I am close with a VP and you really need to have the "fit" for the group. Rest can be taught assuming you're smart and have finance experience.

I attended a wealth management panel last night at my school, and there were people from JP Morgan Private Bank, Goldman PWM, Brown Brothers Harriman, and Credit Suisse. Without a doubt, the role is heavily relationship based whereby you are expected to build a book and bring in clients. If you join a team with an existing book, there isn't quite as much pressure as someone wanting to start his own team, but you will be expected to contribute to the bottom line, and your bonus will depend heavily on it. As TNA said above, finance knowledge and brainpower are not that important for the job. What matters is fit, whether people like and trust you and want to work with you.

For me personally, the only role in this space that interests me is the investor associate role at JPM PB and perhaps a few others where most of the job is research and markets related and i don't have to bring in clients.
