July 4th emails
I've been networking with some analysts and associates in consulting this spring and early summer. Is it okay to send a happy July 4th email to them, and include updates about myself in the email?

I am also entering recruiting and am not coming from a position of authority or inside knowledge, but if I were to hazard a guess, I would advise against it.
Personally, I think it has a greater chance of being perceived to be annoying than providing benefits. I guess it also depends on how well you know them.
Again, I could totally be off here, so if someone knows otherwise, please correct me. Just my take.

depends when u send it you can wish them a happy fourth but I doubt sending it ON the fourth would be considered beneficial to u or them

yes! mentors have told me it’s acceptable unless it’s the day of the holiday or weekends. Wishing them a good holiday is just nice / polite formality

Would sending July 4th emails be perceived as racist?
Definitely not racist— depending on who the professional is though, they may just be more indifferent about it if they aren’t too warm to the holiday or American themselves. I think if you do send the July 4th email, wishing them a happy holiday shouldn’t be the main point, focus it around the update and have the happy holidays be the cherry on top.
