I am also entering recruiting and am not coming from a position of authority or inside knowledge, but if I were to hazard a guess, I would advise against it.

Personally, I think it has a greater chance of being perceived to be annoying than providing benefits. I guess it also depends on how well you know them.

Again, I could totally be off here, so if someone knows otherwise, please correct me. Just my take.

 

Definitely not racist— depending on who the professional is though, they may just be more indifferent about it if they aren’t too warm to the holiday or American themselves. I think if you do send the July 4th email, wishing them a happy holiday shouldn’t be the main point, focus it around the update and have the happy holidays be the cherry on top.
