Jump to Deloitte?

I am looking for some advice on a career decision I need to make.

I graduated from a top 10 MBA in 2016 and landed a spot at PwC's Deals team (not S&) where I have been for a year. I haven't really enjoyed work, it's been mostly PMO projects, and I feel like I am not learning alot of useful things from my colleagues during engagements.

I was recently extended an offer from Deloitte S&O and am wondering if it makes sense to make the jump. Comp really isn't a huge factor for me, I am looking for better projects, smarter coworkers, and better exit opportunities into the corporate world. I don't plan on being in consulting for longer than a couple years longer due to the travel. I am trying to see if it makes sense to blow up my network and start over at a new company.

What do you think?

I did the reverse switch and have come to regret it. I have come to realize the exact same thing from my experience at PwC as you have. If this was S& vs Deloitte S&O it would be a different story, however if you have a clear chance to be in Deloitte S&O's M&A practice vs PwC Deals I think it's a no brainer.

I found in my experience the projects were better at Deloitte, and hence the exit opportunities were better. Not to mention the work I was doing back at Deloitte is what I would say a real-consultant does. I would think switch, do a few years at Deloitte. You will be pushed hard, however you'll get some really cool projects and a better brand-name once you exit and hopefully a more lucrative exit opportunity.

If I could switch back in a instant I would. However if you don't want to damage your network so much, definitely check out Strategy& they have a solid shop and I've worked with them a bit as-well during my time here. I know a few names in the Deals Strategy practice might be worth reaching out to... Inbox me.
