junior classics major at target, low gpa, looking for internships
Hi all,
I'm a junior Classics major (Latin and Greek) at Princeton, currently looking for internships in finance. Ambitious freshman year (orgo, math-track econ, varsity rowing) led to time off and return as humanities major. I've taken a few finance/econ courses and interned last summer at an $8B state pension fund. GPA cumulative ~2.6, ex-freshman year 3.4. Outstanding test scores.
Currently planning to apply to a large number of internships. Mostly NYC, but Philadelphia is OK (home) and would prefer Boston to both. A question: a lot of networking advice recommends asking for informational interviews etc. but I was recently told by a family friend, former MD that I should go direct and send CVs in initial contacts. What do?
Would welcome any advice general or specific and hope to contribute to the forum!
Thanks,
pingpongball
