Junior interested in Biotech VC

Hi all,

I am considering getting into VC at some point later in my career as the space is fascinating to me. I am currently a junior at a state school studying finance with a minor in engineering. I've been getting super into biotech VC

I understand that it is a very difficult space to get into and it seems like everyone has a PhD from MIT. What can I do now to help differentiate myself in the meantime. Would it make any sense to pick up a minor in Biology or something? Do some research? Thanks and would love to hear any thoughts.

This summer, I will be interning in a strong healthcare investment banking group.

That is my impression as well - Biotech VC is a technical field where the best funds have individuals with deep sector knowledge and experience. However, given the areas you are currently focused on, there are trends around the use of big data or ML/AI applied to solve healthcare problems. So perhaps you could look to join VC funds that have tech + healthcare overlap.
