Kellogg Certificate Program
For those of you who went to Northwestern or anyone who is familiar with the Kellogg Certificate Programs offered to undergrads, does it make a large difference in recruiting? What are your thoughts on the program (I am interested in the financial economics program) ? The program is offered to students in both junior and senior year if you are accepted, and I would most likely be applying for senior year due to the difficulty is scheduling the prerequisite courses in one year (I would be transferring to Northwestern as a Sophomore). If I attend the school, is the certificate program necessary to securing the crucial Junior internship for investment banking? My other option is to stay in at UMich Ross and enter their BBA program which I have already been accepted to for fall 2017 and beyond.
Dont think certificates make much of a difference but I think Ross is more of a target than NU. could be wrong tho

Hey guys,
I have decided to attend Northwestern next fall and was recently looking into the Kellogg Certificate. The prerequisites to get into this program are definitely very rigorous (three higher-level math classes spanning from multivariable calculus to linear algebra, one math-related probability course, one advanced microecon course, and two econometrics courses). I can do math (completed ordinary differential equations as a senior in HS), but at the same time, I would ideally like to know if having this certificate on top of an economics major and business institutions minor will be essential to landing a good, high-paying job out of college. Will it be a significant disadvantage to not have the certificate and only be an econ major/BIP minor?
Any Northwestern students and alumni who can verify that the Kellogg Certificate is looked upon/desired by Investment Banks, Consulting companies, and other financial institutions recruiting at Northwestern? What are your recommendations and suggestions? The Kellogg Certificate is also a full-year program, so were I to partake in the program, I would complete this over the course of my entire senior year?
