Kellogg vs Columbia
Folks,
I am 26/M/Indian origin working in the US in healthcare strategy. I got into the fulltime MBA program of both Kellogg and Columbia. I am really confused right now. I am not specifically interested in finance but intend to take some finance courses. I also look forward to working in some big pharma companies post MBA(which are mostly located in the NY/NJ area.). Looks like ranking wise Kellogg is very good and also I get a sense the environment there will be more dynamic. The kellogg brand too has an edge over Columbia I think. I also plan to move back to India in a few years. What are your thoughts on both these schools? Kellogg is a better brand, a better over all MBA program, more dynamic environment. Columbia is in NY and may be better recruiting wise. In INDIA and Asia which has a better brand recognition Kellogg or Columbia.

Kellogg and Columbia, brand wise, are equals. Choose based on fit. Do you like Kellogg's close-knit environment, or Columbia's location in NYC?

There's a decent healthcare/pharma presence between Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio (Abbott Labs, Baxter, Biomet, Eli Lilly, Hospira, Cook, Zimmer, Cardinal Health).
Columbia is a much better name if you want to join the finance area; its location and network among financial institutions is larger than Kellogg
