Ketamine IV?

Anyone here do a Ketamine IV? I found out my city has a Ketamine center and it is $375 per treatment. They recommend 6 treatments in 2 weeks, but I was thinking of just getting 1-2 just to chill out and have a good time.Β

I'm mainly thinking of doing it to feel less depressed and less anxiety. I would just pay cash for each session, I don't have insurance coverage for this. I've heard good things.Β

I talked to my psychiatrist about this and he didn't recommend it and said it might be a very expensive route. I'm really just seeking ketamine troches (losenges), but I don't know if this place has them. I might try an IV though, I heard even 1 IV session makes you feel more happy about life and less anxiety.Β
Β

I just read some testimonials and hear this is a game changer and am very intrigued.Β

It is legit. It's for treatment resistant depression but you'll be paying cash for the IV version, I believe.Β You can get a nasal version (that is fda approved)Β covered by your insurance.Β

Instead of thinking of stupid pointless shit and sitting on these forums all day go outside. You're anxious because you do it to yourself.

I am an Ironman Triathlete. I have neurological misfires and have been having them since I was 18. This includes serotonin deficiency. I have had panic attacks while outside running. I don't think you understand what you're talking about. I had a small panic attack during my Ironman at Boulder CO while in my wetsuit during the swim at altitude. Almost thought about quitting then, but forged on.Β

Do you even swim/bike/run/workout? Or do you just hate on others with neurological issues while sitting on your couch?

I'm mostly on here when I'm playing poker. Chill bro.Β

I can relate to neurological misfires I tried to make a thread on the topic of mental health struggles pretty recently but it didn't get posted for whatever reason, not unipolar like it seems like you might be butΒ I was diagnosed bipolar 1 pretty recently after a severe manic episode and am working through the medication piece right now trying to figure out what the best plan will be for me because what I am on right now lithium and risperidone has me feeling like a sedated cow. This ketamine treatment seems like and interesting option, maybe more dangerous but I've heard of people experiencing elevated mood after microdosing lsd or magic mushrooms. Check out this company MindMed they are doing clinical trials and stuff right now for psychedelic drugs to try and get them approved by the fda as a treatment for depression and other things of that nature.Β

I'm honestly interested in what you did today. Did you go outside? Did you workout? I climbed 313 floors today. Did you even do anything?Β

I work from 7am to 2am in IB. Thanks for asking. Don't mean that to sound like a prick but you're on an IB forum and ask as if I'm also a couch potato like you.

Pick yourself up and figure it out. I say things as they are when I see it. Don't mean to be a dick but you need to figure your shit out before your time is up in this planet. Play poker, doing drugs, and being on technology / online forums 24/7 are all addictions. Figure it out homie.

How much K do you get per treatment?

I'm not really sure - they say the IV treatment is two hours. You get a private room in a zero gravity chair and a weighted blanket. The center is run by an MD and it is the only one in my state and is like 10 min from where I live.Β

Mushrooms sound cheaper. If you can afford it, why not try that first treatment? It's only $400 bucks if you don't like it the first time move on with your life, but for $400 you could find what you're missing.

Yeah I think I might try it out. They say you feel the results in 1hr - 24hrs so I think or hope it will be something like a paradigm shift in the brain - like putting on different lenses for life. I've read a lot of reviews on it and there areΒ a lot of positive results.Β

What you're talking about has been tried and tested with mushrooms... Buy some go to your therapist and pop them in your mouth before they can do anything about it.

I'm starting to worry about you bro. If I've learned anything in life, it's that drugs and alcohol lead to darker places. No don't believe the hype.

Thanks for your concern, but this is through an MD so I would have to receive an official diagnosis and plan for treatment. I'm a firm believer in drugs and have been medicated for 8 years through psychiatry and 11 years with THC (big fan). I currently feel pretty well balanced, but really want to try K. I guess it is somewhat uncommon? I also just got into CBD, which is like $30/vial once per week. The CBD seems really nice.Β

Don't you need a diagnosis of major depression to get a KΒ prescription?

I have beenΒ diagnosed with major depression. I've been dealing with it for 20 years. Sometimes it'sΒ easier to handle than other times. I take medication, but it doesn't make me super happy or anything, just not really sad. I've heard K is a game changer for some people.Β

I did a couple keys for the first time this weekend while hippie flipping and it was awesome. I would hope they give you enough for a K Hole in IV, otherwise just find a dealer and get a test kit.Β Don't listen to all the other boomersΒ saying oh don't do drugs, there's many people who have experienced positive life benefits from Ketamine just like psychedelics. The key however is in the integration of the experience. You should take some time to reflect on it afterwards and really take in the lessons. Otherwise it'll just be a great time but you won't learn much.Β
Β

also $400 is a bit pricey, but if convenience andΒ safety areΒ important for u and money is not, i say go for it

edit: google "ketamine erowid" for a ton of good information

I saw some guys under the bridge who had a really great experience with drugs.

Google: "Ketamine brain damage" for a start.

Side note: Not sure if you're seen footage of Woodstock, but when boomers tell me that drugs are bad, I believe them! They know what they're talking about in that regard.

The clinic is run by an MD. The MD went to med school. Did you go to med school? Also, I googled the brain damage link and it mainly describes addicts. I'm not looking to get addicted. Just a couple sessions overseen by medical staff. There is a big difference.

The reason I asked if you went to med school earlier was because you expressed an opinion without citing actual data. This implies that you must have credentials, but you do not. So, no cited studies and no credentials constitute a weak argument. I think you are missing the therapeutic benefits of certain drugs.

I stay far away from addiction to substances except the time that I wanted to get addicted to cigarettes, but ended up stopping a few years later as my body rejected them. I stay far away from Oxys and everyone knows they are highly addictive/dangerous. The only time I have had opiates was when I got my wisdom teeth out in high school and had Darvocet. I took the recommended dosage and then came off them, that was it. I also take benzos at times, which many people say are 'dangerous', but I think they are pretty tame as long as you don't go over the prescription. I stay well under the prescription limits and the main risk with benzos is taking a lot and then coming off really fast. Each medication should have a therapeutic effect and it is essential to stay within the therapeutic ranges of dosages to avoid addiction or maleffects. To have a 'scared' notion of 'hard drugs' like you is to prevent some people from getting the care that they need. All drugs or hard drugs aren't necessarily bad. There is a way to use them and if you always stay on label or as the MD prescribes, you should be safe.

Unfortunately some MDs in Florida and other states have been known to prescribe opiates to addicts and that is certainly a problem. But, your blanket language on drugs and hard drugs seems like you are widely uneducated in the matter. There are risks,Β yes. But, addiction to K is not something I'm worried about. If I was taking Oxys, sure I would be worried as hell about addiction.Β
