Knowing what you know now

What would you do differently in your undergrad?
Obviously get 4.0 and go to hyp (or at least top 10 for business/finance), but other than that.
Was double majoring useful, or would you have rather single-majored and spent more effort networking and getting involved in training programs, etc
Was the involvement in the "investment club" of as much use you thought it would be, or would you have been better served captaining intramural soccer?

Oh man... you know as far as grades go, even though mine were far from perfect, I don't regret not doing better, and wouldn't do anything to change them on a second go-around.

There were a couple of girls with whom I'd make sure to avoid the same blunders.

Less time with clubs, more in drinking/working out/stepping up my BJJ.

Cut out all the networking except for the places I actually ended up working at.

Should've gone abroad, too.

At the end of the day, no one wishes that they could have gone back in time, worked harder, gotten into Harvard, or gotten a 4.0. A double major does shit for you... it's a 2-second "oooh ahh" effect and that's it.

As corny as this sounds, college is all about discovering yourself. I learned more trying to wine-and-shame stains out of my carpet and improvising on last-minute projects than I ever did in class. Will definitely second the study abroad comment though.

I was thinking study abroad before I saw either of the two posts above as well. Also, just generally travel a bit more and take the time to meet more people. I hated maintaining friendships at times but I think I was just too impatient.

People tend to think life is a race with other people. They don't realize that every moment they spend sprinting towards the finish line is a moment they lose permanently, and a moment closer to their death.

I'd definitely be long on Apple and Google, that's for damn sure.

Other than that, I guess I would definitely change some things, but my situation is really different than most.

If I had to do college again, I would do something more like:

-Single major (probably finance) -probably 50-75% of business electives in accounting -of non-business elective, probably ~40% in econ, ~20% in math, the rest would be spread out between international relations, literature, and art -2 ECs (only): 1 community service, 1 club (investment or finance) -Internships: try and get a 4-6 week one after freshman year (still have half that time to dick around/get summer job), soph summer probably same thing, junior year a full SA internship

That pretty much sums it up for me
